PUTRAJAYA – The President of UMNO, Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi said that he would continue to give his statements to the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) at 9.00 a.m. tomorrow.
“I will be back tomorrow,” he said briefly before entering his vehicle when asked if the statement recording is over or the former Deputy Prime Minister would need to make another trip to the MACC.
Ahmad Zahid looked a little tire after being grilled for almost 9 hours since this morning. He also thanked the media who waited for him patiently outside the headquarters of the MACC.
“I do not need to make any press conference at this moment, I only wish to thank all you of who waited for me faithfully since this morning. I am relieved that my friends are waiting for me,” he said.
This is the fourth time he was required by the MACC to assist into an investigation of the misappropriation of funds involving a foundation amounting to RM800,000.
Ahmad Zahid arrived at the headquarters of MACC at 9.16 a.m. in a Toyota Lexus.
He was accompanied by his daughter, Datuk Nurulhidayah Zahid who came in another vehicle.
Yesterday, Ahmad Zahid, Nurulhidayah and his brother Datuk Seri Mohamad Nasaee Ahmad Tarmizi was summoned by the MACC to assist into the case.
Zahid, the Member of Parliament of Bagan Datuk had been at the MACC on 2 July, 3 July and yesterday, 10 October. -MalaysiaGazette
