PUTRAJAYA – The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission has been urged to investigate a blog posting allegedly linking Datuk Seri Mohd Shafie Apdal to the water supply project in Pulau Gaya, Sabah.

Gerakan Akar Umbi UMNO Malaysia chairman Datuk Zulkarnain Mahdar said the movement felt called to lodge an official report to MACC based on the claim in ‘Captain M The Great Soldier’.

According to the blog, the project worth RM100 million was awarded to a company based in Penampang when Mohd Shafie was then the Rural and Regional Development Minister.

It claimed the project took off in December 2011 and should have been completed in September 2015 but was delayed, affecting more than 10,000 residents in several villages there.

“With such substantial allocation we want to know what happened to the project and worse, the state government also admitted it did not know anything about it,” Zulkarnain told reporters at the MACC headquarters here today.- BERNAMA
