KUALA LUMPUR – Majlis Ulama Rohingya (MUR) memohon maaf kepada seluruh rakyat Malaysia atas kesilapan melibatkan seorang daripada bangsa Rohingya yang didakwa telah mengetengahkan beberapa tuntutan seolah-olah mewakili keseluruhan bangsa itu di Malaysia.
MUR dalam kenyataannya di sini berkata, pihakya telah meneliti setiap tuntutan yang didakwa dibuat oleh Zafar Ahmad Abdul Ghani atas kapsiti sebagai Presiden Pertubuhan Hak Asasi Etnik Rohingya Malaysia (Mehrom) dan tular baru-baru ini.
Menurut MUR mereka sama sekali tidak menyokong tindakan tersebut dan menyifatkan ia sebagai tidak bertanggungjawab.
“Kami memohon kemaafan sepenuh hati kepada semua rakyat Malaysia mahupun kerajaan Malaysia atas kesalahan seorang daripada bangsa Rohingya yang tidak pernah dilantik oleh mana-mana persatuan atau masyrakata Rohingya.
“Hal itu menunjukkan beliau bergerak secara individu atau mempunyai persatuan sendiri,” kata MUR.
MUR juga mendakwa Zafar tidak pernah mengadakan sebarang perbincangan dengan pihaknya dan persatuan lain.
Persatuan tersebut turut mengucapkan ribuan terima kasih kepada rakyat Malaysia kerana sokongan berterusan terhadap kelangsungan hidup bangsa Rohingya di negara ini
“Sumbangan anda sangat dihargai oleh Rohingya di seluruh dunia,” katanya sambil meminta mana-mana pihak berurusan dengan persatuan atau individu yang benar-benar mewakili bangsa Rohingya di Malaysia.
Kelmarin Zafar dalam satu menafikan pernah mengeluarkan kenyataan seperti Melayu bodoh, menuntut hak kerakyatan penuh pelarian Rohingya dan mempertikaikan pihak penguatkuasa Malaysia menolak bot pelarian berkenaan daripada mendarat di negara ini.

Dia menafikannya, tetapi surat ‘rasmi’ mengenai tuntutan2nya itu ada tandatangan dan butir2 lain mengenai dirinya. Apa pun, banyak laporan di medsos yg memaparkan pengalaman negatif para penduduk tempatan dan pihak berkuasa tentang tingkah dan tindak-tanduk kaum puak ini yg berciri negatif. Lebih menghairankan lagi ialah ada seorang wanita yg menggelarkan dirinya sebagai ‘Tengku’ yg wajahnya saling tak tumpah spt wanita2 Rohingya lain, kononnya mewakili Majlis Rohingya Eropah, menggesa malah mendesak kerajaan supaya memberikana layanan istimewa kpd kaum puak ini, menyusuli peristiwa pasukan keselamatan negara mengusir sebuah kapal yg cuba mendaratkan ratusan pelarian Rohingya dari Bangladesh. Apa pun, perlu difahami bahawa M’sia yg tidak memeterai sebarang perjanjian dgn PBB mengenai soal memberikan perlindungan dan layanan istimewa kpd para pelarian, tidak tertakluk kpd peruntukan2 sebegini yg ditaja oleh negara2 Eropan dan UNHCR.
