KUALA LUMPUR – Four states in the Peninsular of Malaysia with many Covid-19 red zones have shown improvement after 11 districts are now free from the disease.
According to the data from the Crisis Preparedness and Response Centre (CPRC), all four zones in Kedah are now categorised as green zone, namely, Kubang Pasu, Padang Terap, Langkawi and Yan.
Three districts in Terengganu have now returned to the green zone, namely, Dungun, Kemaman and Hulu Terengganu. Meanwhile, two green zones are detected in Perak namely, Hulu Perak and Kampar. Pahang recorded two green zones in Raub and Cameron Highlands.
Sabah also has one green zone in Tongod, 10 yellow zones and nine orange zones.
Meanwhile, Penang is still categorised as a red zone state as all five districts in the state has recorded more than 40 Covid-19 positive cases. This constitute of Seberang Perai Utara with 157 cases, Timur Laut with 259 cases, Barat Daya with 549 cases and Seberang Perai Selatan with 253 cases.
One yellow zone is recorded in Selangor yesterday at Sabak Bernam with six cases. Meanwhile, eight other districts remain in the red zone with Hulu Langat (2,480), Petaling (3,647), Gombak (953), Klang (853), Kuala Selangor (221), Kuala Langat (700), Sepang (326) and Hulu Selangor (209).
Kuala Lumpur is still recording the red zone with four of its provinces recording over 40 cases such as Lembah Pantai (456), Titiwangsa (470), Kepong (554) and Cheras (307).
Meanwhile, Putrajaya is in the orange zone with 34 cases while Labuan has recorded 15 Covid-19 positive cases.
Johor is still recording seven red zones with Johor Bahru (1,466), Kluang (65), Batu Pahat (763), Muar (593), Kulai (296), Pontian (298) and Kota Tinggi (217). Two districts in the state has recorded the yellow zone with 10 cases in Segamat and six cases in Mersing. Meanwhile, Tangkak recorded the orange zone with 24 cases.
Negeri Sembilan recorded five yellow zones with Rembau (5), Tampin (3), Jelebu (7), Jempol (7) and Kuala Pilah (3). However, Port Dickson is still in the orange zone with 23 cases.
Meanwhile, in Melaka, Melaka Tengah recorded the red zone with 43 cases, Alor Gajah recorded the orange zone with 27 cases and Jasin recorded the yellow zone with 16 cases.
Perak recorded five red zones in Kinta (469), Hilir Perak (682), Manjung (258), Larut, Matang Selama (86) and Batang Padang (64).
Kelantan also recorded great development after six of its districts are categorised as the yellow zone with Pasir Puteh (2), Tumpat (12), Gua Musang (1), Tanah Merah (7), Jeli (2) and Machang (9). Red zones are recorded in Kota Bharu (220), Kuala Krai (50) and Bachok (93).
Sarawak continues to record the most number of green zones in eleven areas, namely, Limbang, Simunjan, Lawas, Pakan, Tebedu, Daro, Lubuk Antu, Matu, Kabong, Tanjung Manis and Telang Usa. Nevertheless, Sibu recorded the highest case in the country with 1,022 Covid-19 cases. Bintulu in the state also recorded the red zone with 345 cases. –MalaysiaGazette
