KUALA LUMPUR – After issuing a statement that all ministers from UMNO will remain in the Cabinet and Perikatan Nasional government, Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin went ahead to chair the Cabinet meeting as usual today.
He shared several pictures of him with the ministers complying with the strict standard operating procedures (SOP) during the meeting.
“The Prime Minister chairs the Cabinet Meeting in Putrajaya this morning,” he said in his Facebook post.
This morning, Muhyiddin said that he had advised the eight UMNO ministers in his Cabinet to remain in the Cabinet for the benefit of the people and the country.
He said, several UMNO ministers hold important portfolios related to the current focus of the government.
Muhyiddin also said that he does not want the resignation of those ministers from the Cabinet to affect the government’s plan in overcoming Covid-19 and to recover the national economy.
The statement came after the ministers from UMNO had a meeting with him two days ago, getting his advice on their status in the Cabinet following the decision made by UMNO during its General Assembly (PAU 2020) last weekend.
In the PAU2020, UMNO emphasized that it would cut its tie with Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu) in the coming 15th General Election (GE15). –MalaysiaGazette
