KUALA LUMPUR – In conjunction with the Conditional, Recovery and Enhanced Movement Control Order (CMCO, RMCO & EMCO), the interstate travel ban will remain from 29 April until 17 May.
Senior Minister (Security Cluster) Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said that this means, no one can travel back to their hometown for the Aidilfitri holidays that would take place on 13 May.
“The interstate travel ban remains with the latest status under the MCO, CMCO and RMCO which comes in effect from 29 April until 17 May.
“However, the standard operating procedures (SOP) for the Aidilfitri celebration is still being studied by the Department of Islamic Development Malaysia (JAKIM) along with the Ministry of Health (MOH) and the National Security Council (MKN).
“The SOP for the Aidilfitri celebration will be announced soon,” he told a news conference today.
Meanwhile, Ismail Sabri said that the alleged inter-district travel ban five days before Aidilfitri that went viral in the social media is untrue.
“I told you just now, all news about the viral Aidilfitri SOP are fake. The announcement has yet to be made and I will announce it soon,” he said. –MalaysiaGazette
