Covid-19 new cases deaths

KUALA LUMPUR – The daily Covid-19 cases in the country continued to linger around the 6,000 cases range with 6,493 cases being reported as of 12.00 pm today.

With that, the cumulative Covid-19 cases in the country is almost reaching half a million with 498,795 case.

According to the report by the Ministry of Health (MOH), Selangor recorded 2,163 new cases and remained lead the Covid-19 score in Malaysia.

This is followed by Kuala Lumpur (641 cases), Sarawak (612), Kelantan (467), Kedah (434) and Johor (406).

There are currently 52,106 active cases in the country and 643 are being treated at the Intensive Care Unit (ICU). 363 of the Covid-19 patients required respiratory support.

Meanwhile, 50 Covid-19 deaths were recorded today and 22 of the cases were in Selangor, said the Director-General of Health, Tan Sri Dr. Noor Hisham Abdullah.

According to him, from that amount 49 were Malaysia citizens, meanwhile, one case was a non-citizen. Thus, 2,149 or 0.43 percent of the Covid-19 patients have succumbed to the disease.

Meanwhile, 4,508 individuals have recovered from the disease and the cumulative number of recoveries have increased to 444,540 cases or 89.1 percent.

He said, there are currently 529 active clusters in the country, including 18 new clusters. The country has recorded a total of 1,984 clusters to date and 1,455 clusters have ended.

“We would like to advise everyone, including those who have received Covid-19 vaccine to continue to adhere to the health recommendation such as to avoid crowded and confined spaces and close face-to-face conversations.

“Obey the SOP as the new normal. MOH will continue to monitor the development of infections inside and outside the country through information obtained from WHO,” he said. –MalaysiaGazette
