KUALA LUMPUR – 60 Covid-19 deaths have been reported today, shifting the total Covid-19 death tally to 2,369 cases.
15 Covid-19 patients succumbed to the outbreak in Selangor, 10 in Johor, six cases each in Sarawak and Kedah, five cases in the Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur, three cases each in Sabah, Penang, Perak and Kelantan, two cases each in Negeri Sembilan and Melaka and one case each in Pahang and Terengganu.
“726 cases are being treated at the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and 373 of them required respiratory support,” Director-General of Health Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said in a statement on the latest Covid-19 update today.
On the other hand, 3,789 patients have recovered from Covid-19 thus, a cumulative of 525,889 cases have recovered from the disease.
Earlier, Noor Hisham announced the highest daily record of Covid-19 infections in Malaysia with 7,289 cases as of 12.00 pm today, compared to 6,509 cases yesterday.
It is also the highest new daily infection record for Selangor with 2,641 case, an increment of 593 cases compared to yesterday.
From that amount of new cases, 7,285 were from local infections, meanwhile, four cases were imported.
