KUALA LUMPUR – The scaffolding of the under construction Light Rail Transit (LRT) 3 project opposite Première Hotel at Jalan Langat, Bandar Bukit Tinggi has collapsed.
The 2.15 pm incident has caused five migrant workers to be trapped underneath the rubbles and all victims have been evacuated.
Four victims sustained light injuries while one passed away after being trapped underneath the fallen steel scaffolding.
One of the four victims who was injured is an Indonesian while the other victims, including the one who passed away were Bangladeshis.
The Fire and Rescue Department received a call on the incident at 2.58pm and deployed FRT and EMRS vehicles from the Port Klang Shah Alam Fire and Rescue Station to the location.
Earlier, the South Klang District Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner Shamsul Amar Ramli said that the police received the call about the collapse at around 2.15pm. –MalaysiaGazette
