KUALA LUMPUR – The Twelfth Malaysia Plan (RMK12) presented by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob today introduces several rejuvenations to ensure sustainable economic growth with a focus on equitable wealth distribution, the wellbeing of the people and environmental sustainability.

Three themes, four catalytic policy enablers, and 14 game changers were introduced in RMK12, which require effective implementation and strong commitment from all stakeholders in its sole mission of implementing changes.

Ismail Sabri said, the RMK12 with the objective of A Prosperous, Inclusive, Sustainable Malaysia, may pave way for Keluarga Malaysia to enjoy a better standard of living.

“We want to drive Malaysia towards being a developed country with high income and challenge-proof the future. However, this achievement is meaningless if some Keluarga Malaysia are neglected from the development current.

“We want to live together happily, as a family, regardless of our income level, religion and race. To implement development, environment sustainability must become the main agenda of the country as it would be inherited by our future generation,” he said while presenting the RMK12 motion at the Dewan Rakyat today.

The Prime Minister added that such changes are not merely to general wealth for the country, on the contrary, it is designed to overcome several economic structure challenges, providing work force for the future, enhance the wellbeing of Keluarga Malaysia and to close the development gaps between territories.

Besides that, RMK12 would also ensure a more effective service delivery to the people.

“Insya-Allah (God willing), with these rejuvenations, by 2025, Malaysia would become a high income country with better qualify of life.

“We hope to turn Malaysia into a high technology country,” he added.

The focus over the next five years is anchored on three key themes, namely, resetting the economy, strengthening security, wellbeing and inclusivity as well as advancing sustainability.

These themes will be supported by the policy enablers of talent, technology, transport infrastructure and public service delivery, consistent with the objectives of achieving prosperity, inclusivity and sustainability in line with WKB 2030 and the 2030 Agenda. -MalaysiaGazette
