KUALA LUMPUR – Rape or sexual crime should not be turned into a joke, especially when it is aired on a local television network in the country.

Minister of Women, Family and Community Development, Datuk Seri Rina Mohd Harun said that on the contrary, everyone needs to respect and take care of the dignity of women at all time.

“Yes. Never joke about rape or any sexually offensive acts. Respect the women as they have dignity,” she said in her latest Twit.

Earlier, actress, Sharifah Amani questioned the action of a television station that aired a programme that allegedly joked about rape.

“Disgusting, disrespectful, disappointing. This is the result when they don’t respect their career, colleagues and human. I don’t understand how this was allowed, from filming to airing of the show. Did no one see how horrible it was? How was this allowed on mainstream tv?” she Twitted. -MalaysiaGazette
