KUALA LUMPUR – The Ministry of Education (MOE) said that the educational institutions under the ministry that have reached 90 percent vaccination rate and above may conduct classes for students in public and international examination year without rotation beginning 8 November 2021.
The decision was made after a joint discussion between the MOE and the National Security Council (MKN) by considering the vaccination rate among the students in examination classes.
Educational institutions that operate under the MOE for public and international examinations classes may attend school without rotation on 8 November 2021 for Group A states (Johor, Kedah, Kelantan and Terengganu) and Group B states (Melaka, Negeri Sembilan, Pahang, Perak, Perlis, Penang, Sabah, Sarawak, Selangor, Kuala Lumpur, Labuan and Putrajaya).
The operation for Group A states also begin on 8 November 2021 as 7 November is an additional public holiday in conjunction with the Deepavali celebration.
MOE added that the public and international examinations include, the Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia, Sijil Vokasional Malaysia, Sijil Tinggi Agama Malaysia and Sijil Tinggi Persekolahan Malaysia and international examinations such as IGCSE O-Level, A-Level, Australia Higher School Certificate, IBD and other international examinations.
Educational institutions under MOE that have yet to achieve 90 percent of full vaccination rate need to go on rotation.
Nevertheless, Semester 3 pre-university students at Malaysia Sports Schools, public and international examination year students at full boarding schools would attend school without rotation.
MOE will continue to monitor and update the list of education institutions that have yet to achieve the 90 percent vaccination rate and the list will be updated on every Wednesday. – MalaysiaGazette
