Myvi pickup truck crash accident

KUANTAN – A senior citizen died in a road crash after his car collided with an oncoming pickup truck at Selancar, Muadzam Shah yesterday evening.

Arbaain Aziz, 76, was seated at the backseat and died on the scene during the Aidilfitri tragedy, meanwhile, the driver of the car and two other passengers were injured. They are currently receiving treatment at the Segamat Hospital in Johor, said the Pahang Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department Chief, Superintendent Kamarulzaman Jusoh @ Mohamad Daud.

“The accident was believed to happen when the pickup truck was on its way from the Keratong Felda to Selancar 3.

“Upon reaching the location of the accident, the pickup truck hit a pothole filled with water, it lost control and spun towards the opposite side of the road and hit the Myvi,” he said when contacted.

Preliminary investigation showed that the accident was caused by the negligence of the pickup truck driver who failed to control his vehicle and entered the opposite lane.

He said, both victims in the pickup truck were unhurt and the case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act (APJ) 1987.

Kamarulzaman reminded all motorist to be more careful and responsible on the road, especially during the festive season. -MalaysiaGazette
