KUALA LUMPUR – The Cabinet Ministers have been informed about the proposal to amend the Constitution in curbing the Members of Parliament (MP) from hopping parties the Minister at Prime Minister’s Department (Parliament and Law), Datuk Seri Dr. Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar.
He said, Attorney-General, Tan Sri Idrus Harun has explained bout the constitution amendment and the Cabinet Ministers has no objection on the draft proposed by the Parliament Special Select Committee.
“However, the Cabinet Ministers raised two issues which require fine tuning by the Special Select Committee.
“I emphasise, according to Regulation 85 of the Standing Order, information on the Special Select Committee cannot be revealed to the public as it is still under discussion by the Special Parliament Select Committee,” he said in a statement to the media today.
According to him, the questions raised by the Cabinet will be brought to the Parliament Special Select Committee on 7 June and to be finalised. -MalaysiaGazette
