KUALA LUMPUR – The Selangor Barisan Nasional (BN) has terminated Isham Jalil as the state information chief with immediate effect.
He, who held the position since 31 May 2020 announced the termination of his service in a letter dated 3 June.
“I was informed that my service as the Selangor BN Information Chief has been terminated with immediate effect.
“Based on the letter from Selangor BN, the position of the state BN Information Chief was not under the provision of the BN Constitution.
“I wish to thank everyone who had cooperated and fought with me throughout my service as the Selangor BN Information Chief,” he said in a Facebook post today.
The letter dated 3 June 2022 was signed by the Selangor BN Secretary, Datuk Dr. Mohamad Satim Diman and a copy of the letter was also sent to the Secretary-General of BN Malaysia Datuk Seri Dr. Zambry Abd. Kadir and the Selangor BN Chairman Tan Sri Noh Omar.
According to that letter, the Chairman of Selangor BN has given his greenlight to terminate Isham’s service with immediate effect.
The decision was made in a joint discussion with the Chairman of Malaysia BN by referring to Article 23 of the Barisan Nasional Constitution.
Selangor BN accorded its highest appreciation and thanked Isham for his service and contribution during his appointment.
Isham also urged all party members to continue fighting for the party despite he is no longer with the BN state leadership.
“I will assist as much as I can although I have no position and I will fight as a common member like what I did earlier.
“May Allah SWT bless our fight. If we are sincere and patient, Allah SWT will help us and grant us success for the future of the country and our children, God Willing,” he said. -MalaysiaGazette
