KUANTAN – Perlis’ football coach Razip Ismail has resigned from the post after the team’s defeat to Kuantan FA in the Premier Cup match last night.
He said the decision was made due to the dismal performance of the Northern Lions in several matches prior to this, including last night’s loss of 0-5 to Kuantan FA at the Darul Makmur Stadium.
“During the match, our attackers failed to score any goal, while our defence was porous.
“There is nothing more to say, I am disappointed with Perlis’ performance and with that, confirmed my resignation,” he told reporters after the match here.
Prior to this, Razip had said that he was prepared to step down if the Perlis Football Association (PFA) was not happy with his service.
Perlis is now at the bottom in the league with only two points.
Meanwhile, Kuantan FA coach, Zulhamizan Zakaria said the team was on the right track to go up the league’s chart after trouncing Perlis.
“Our striker, Nabilah Khan Razali, who scored two goals last night gave us a new dimension to the game. I hope he can maintain his performance,” he added.- BERNAMA
