PUTRAJAYA – A senior director Malaysian Islamic Economic Foundation (Yapeim) has been remanded for five days for criminal breach of trust (CBT).
Magistrate Nik Isfahanie Tasnim Wan Ab Rahman allowed the application of Malaysia Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) to remand the suspect to assist in investigations.
The spokesperson of MACC said, the senior director was arrested around 5.00 P.M. yesterday after having his statement recorded at the headquarters of MACC.
He was brought to the Putrajaya Court at 9.00 A.M. for the remand.
The 47 year old director was arrested for the alleged criminal breach of trust amounting RM223,000.
He is investigated under Section 409 of he Penal Code for CBT. – MalaysiaGazette
