BEAUFORT – The Barisan Nasional (BN) always appreciated the support given by the people to the party to continue to lead and govern, not only in Sabah but also nationwide, said Sabah Chief Minister Datuk Seri Musa Aman.
Musa, who is also state BN chairman, also expressed his gratitude for the trust given by the people, especially in the state, to the party.
“Thank you to the people for always supporting UMNO and BN…I believe the people are always with the BN party, which is always relevant and serve for the benefit and welfare of all.
“We are not only leaders at the state level but also at the federal level, grateful and thank you for the people”s trust and support,” he said when speaking at a meet-the-people session at Dataran Bagandang here today.
The ceremony, which was officiated by Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, was also attended by Beaufort Member of Parliament Datuk Azizah Mohd Dun, who is also Deputy Women, Family and Community Development Minister and Beaufort UMNO division chief Datuk Isnin Aliasnih.
Musa also said holding the post of a minister or elected representative was not a privilege for a leader but a trust that must be undertaken with full responsibility in providing the best service to the people.
He said every leader, particularly in UMNO and Barisan Nasional (BN), must translate that trust and responsibility with dedication through their commitment to meet the people who had elected them.
“As such, we (elected representatives) should always be on the ground to ensure the people live well and prosper besides seeing the progress of development projects planned,” he said.
According to the number one leader in Sabah, UMNO and BN are not seasonal in nature but always committed in ensuring the needs and problems of the people were always being given attention.
“This is how we (BN government) if we work hard we will succeed. We are not like the opposition leaders or certain leaders who are seasonal…We always meet the people before, during and after the elections,” he said. — BERNAMA
