PUTRAJAYA – A police corporal has been remanded for allegedly collecting money and providing protection to the illegal gambling dens and massage parlours in Melaka.

The 52 year-old man is the 10th suspect arrested and will be remanded beginning today until 24 May.

Magistrate Nik Isfahanie Tasnim Wan Ab Rahman issued the remand order this morning.

Prior to this, the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) arrested nine individuals including two district police chiefs to assist in investigation. One of them is an Assistant Superintendent while the other is an Inspector. – MalaysiaGazette
