KUALA LUMPUR – The national peace and prosperity will not exist without the sacrifices from the security forces on duty to protect us regardless of the holidays season, said the wife of Prime Minister, Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor.
Rosmah who is also the President of Charitable and Welfare Organisation of Wives of Ministers and Deputy Ministers (BAKTI) said, the security forces who work to protect us round the clock at the borders, jungles and oceans have to leave behind their families, wives and children in order to fulfil their services to the country.
“Their priceless sacrifices and contributions cannot be weighed. Although these gifts may seem too small for their deeds, they come from our sincere hearts in appreciation of their sacrifices,” she said during the Aidilfitri contributions ceremony for the security forces.
Also present were Inspector General of Police, Tan Sri Khalid Abu Bakar, Chief of Malaysian Army, General Tan Sri Raja Mohamed Affandi Raja Mohamed Noor and Director General of Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency (MMEA), Datuk Seri Ahmad Puzi Ab Kahar.
In the ceremony, Rosmah who represented BAKTI handed 57,000 parcels of Raya delicacies worth RM541,500 which consisted of nasi beriani, ayam masak merah, dalca sayur, acar buah and bawang goreng to the Royal Malaysia Police (RMP), Malaysian Armed Forces (MAF) and MMEA.
From that amount, 20,000 parcels were allocated for MAF, 30,000 parcels for RMP while 7,000 parcels were allocated for MMEA.
Rosmah said, like previous years, BAKTI fulfils the duties to hand the Raya contributions for the national security forces as an appreciation towards their sacrifices for the country.
Besides giving thanks for the contributions of the security forces, Rosmah also expressed her admiration on the determination, faithfulness and love of their wives and families who had to be away from their husbands during the month of Ramadan and the festive seasons. -MalaysiaGazette
