SEPANG – President of MIC Datuk Seri Dr S. Subramaniam said, the Sekolah Jenis Kebangsaan Tamil (SJKT) is currently facing shortages of teachers in non-core subjects such as music and arts.

According to him, this halted the government’s efforts in creating a holistic education system.

“This problem could be due to the training system where more teachers choosing core subjects such as English, Tamil, Science and Mathematics over elective subjects,” Dr Subramaniam who is also the Health Minister said that during the launch of SJKT Bandar Baru Salak Tinggi new facelift.

The school received a new facelift worth RM250,000 involving the upgrade of arts room, modern education room and a hall which can fill 200 students at one time.

The upgrading work on the school with 323 students and 28 teachers began in 2015.

“Besides the having sufficient of teachers, the ability to provide proper and complete facilities are important aspects of delivering quality students,” said Dr Subramaniam. – MalaysiaGazette
