KUALA LUMPUR – Royal Malaysia Police (RMP) Special Branch Director, Datuk Seri Mohamad Fuzi Harun has been appointed as the new Inspector-General of Police succeeding Tan Sri Khalid Abu Bakar who retired today.
Mohamad Fuzi, 56, had 25 years of experience in the Special Branch.
The Master Degree holder from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia in Anthropology and Sociology was previously a Bachelor Degree holder (Hons) from University of Malaya.
He had held several positions in the RMP, among which include the Chief of Crime Investigation Department at the Ipoh and Taiping District Police Headquarters. He was also the Director of Special Operation (Operation/ Counter Terrorism) in Bukit Aman.
He was also the acting Deputy Inspector-General of Police in 2014 before the retirement of Tan Sri Mohd. Bakri Zinin.
The handover ceremony of the 11th IGP of Malaysia was witnessed by the Deputy Prime Minister cum the Home Minister, Datuk Seri Dr. Ahmad Zahid Hamidi at the Police Training Institute (PULAPOL) in at Jalan Semarak today. -MalaysiaGazette.
