KUALA LUMPUR – Preacher and President of Aswaja, Dr Zamihan Mat Zin have been remanded for two days beginning today until Friday following his seditious speech at the Tengku Ampuan Jemaah Mosque in Shah Alam last Sunday.
Director of Criminal Investigation Department of Bukit Aman Datuk Seri Wan Ahmad Najmuddin Mohd had confirmed the information.
Yesterday, the Inspector-General of Police, Tan Sri Mohamad Fuzi Harun confirmed that the police have received reports on Zamihan’s speech and he will be investigated under Section 4 of the Sedition Act.
Zamihan was arrested yesterday evening at the Dang Wangi Police Headquarters.
He was also claimed to have allegedly criticised the Sultan of Johor, Sultan Ibrahim Sultan Iskandar for decreeing that the Muslims-only laundrette owner can leave Johor if he wished to continue his discriminatory practice.
His religious speech which questioned the Sultan’s action against the owner of the laundrette went viral in the social media. – MalaysiaGazette
