KUALA LUMPUR – Datuk Seri Mohd. Shafie Apdal had been admitted into the Queen Elizabeth 2 Hospital (QEH) in Kota Kinabalu Sabah due to hypertension last night.
The President of Parti Warisan Sabah (Warisan) was rushed to the hospital two and a half hours after being arrested by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC).
“He was brought to the QEH2 last night for a medical check-up and he was diagnosed with hypertension.
“He is still under treatment as of this morning. However, he is reportedly in a good condition,” said the report.
Mohd. Shafie was arrested by the MACC at 9.00 p.m. yesterday after giving his statements at the Sabah MACC following the probe into the misappropriation of government fund allocated for the rural development project under the Ministry of Rural and Regional Development led by him from 2009 to 2010.
He was scheduled to be brought to the Magistrate Court today after the Friday prayers for remand order. – MalaysiaGazette
