KUALA LUMPUR – The UMNO Youth Chief, PAS Youth Wing and 51 non-government organisations were united in their protest against the decision by Donald Trump in declaring Jerusalem as the capital of Israel.
About 1,000 protestors gathered in front of the US Embassy after the Friday prayers around 2.00 p.m. for a peaceful assembly.
UMNO Youth Chief, Khairy Jamaluddin Abu Bakar who led the protest said, regardless of a nation’s power, Trump should not make the illegal declaration and his reckless decision had upset Muslims throughout the world who wants justice for Palestine.
“This is an illegal declaration! Mark my words, no matter how influential a man is, he must respect international law.
“Trump not only upsets the Muslims but also all people who want to see justice,” he said before almost 1,000 solidarity participants who came in protest of Trump.
Among those present include the Deputy UMNO Youth Chief Khairul Azwan Harun and UMNO Youth Exco Dr Fathul Bari. Meanwhile, PAS was represented by its party Youth Chief, Nik Abduh Nik Abdul Aziz and several other leaders.
Khairy also submitted a memorandum to the embassy and emphasized that the people around the world will not merely watch things being unfold but they will continue their support for Palestine consistently.
“They will see people rising around the world. Please respect international laws. This is against human rights and please stop oppressing the Palestinians,” urged the Minister of Youth and Sports. – MalaysiaGazette
