KUALA LUMPUR – Tun Dr. Mahathir Mohamad said that Abdul Hadi Awang is a non-believer and traitor to Muslims, as a counter-attack to the President of PAS, a portal reported today.
According to the report, Mahathir continued to condemn Abdul Hadi for working closely with Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Najib Razak.
“The person who misused Islam is Hadi. Hadi, in his speech said that the current government is a non-believer government and must be opposed. If should die, they die fighting for the truth and they will go to heaven.
“That was what he said that that is very contrary to the true teachings of Islam,” said the Chairman of PPBM and Pakatan Harapan.
Therefore, Abdul Hadi is a kafir (non-believer) for working with UMNO, Mahathir added.
The former Prime Minister also said that Abdul Hadi had helped Najib a great deal by splitting votes for the oppositions in the coming general election, despite he knows that BN will lose a number of seatings.
According to the report, Mahathir highlighted the issue of Hadi’s speech in 1981, which labelled the then government as non-believer.
PAS however defended the speech of Abdul Hadi, which was seen as a suitable action for the government led by Mahathir then. -MalaysiaGazette
