MERSING – A landslide in KM16 Jalan Jemaluang – Mersing early this morning has injured a 60-year old man as his Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV) to fell into the cliff.
According to the Mersing District Police Chief, Superintendent Cyril Edward Nuing who confirmed the incident, the police received a report from the public at 2.30 a.m.
Following the 70 metres wide and 15 metres deep landslide, the road is closed from public access as it is not safe for any vehicle.
He added, motorists may use the Jalan Nita – Jemaluang alternative route to get to Johor Bahru or Mersing.
The victim who suffered light injuries was sent to the Mersing Hospital for treatment. – MalaysiaGazette.
