SUNGAI BULOH – The Selangor State Government was reminded not to keep the funds handed by the Federal Government in their reserves just to show the people that the state is having a sound reserve fund.

Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi said, on the contrary, the funds need to be used to develop Selangor and not to be handed out merely during the election season.

“We would never place our funds just to show the people that we have great reserves and our savings increase.

“The money shoud be used for development, not savings, so that they can go on a spending spree during the election.

“We label these leaders as bats. Seasonal leaders. They only appear during the fruiting season. They only come to get to know the fruits and the trees. This is unlike the leaders in UMNO and BN,” he said during the Rakyat Feast in Matang Pagar, tonight.

Also present at the event were the Minister of Urban Wellbeing, Housing and Local Government as the BN Selangor Chairman Tan Sri Noh Omar and the Coordinator for DUN Paya Jaras and the Subang UMNO Chief Datuk Zein Isma.

He also jested the leadership of Menteri Besar, Datuk Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali who failed to provide the state fund for the development in Paya Jaras DUN, especially when they are facing the lack of mosques as the house of worship.

Due to that failure, the state government had to fork out RM5.3 million for the development of a new mosque in Paya Jaras State Assembly area.

He said, the mosque is an important venue to create unity within the Muslims and should not be misused for the political mileage for some.

“I hope that the mosque will not be used to disseminate political differences which will cause disharmony amongst us.

“A mosque is a house of worship, a place of unity and we should fill it with wholesome activities, prayers, strengthen our religions and not pray for the fall of the religion and country,” he said. – MalaysiaGazette
