MACHANG – Two suspected criminals were killed in a shoot-out with the police at a at a house in kampung Joh here yesterday.

Kelantan deputy police chief Datuk Din Ahmad said the men, aged 31 and 37, were believed to be involved in a robbery and four-wheel drive (4WD) theft syndicate in the state.

“Following a public tip-off, police raided the house around 3 pm and a shoot-out which lasted around five minutes occurred between the suspects and the police. The suspects were found dead in the living room and at a room at the back of the house.

“Two guns, of which one was fake, and a machete were also recovered from the house,” he told reporters at the scene.

Din said the modus operandi of the duo was to disguise as policemen while committing the robberies.

“With this success, police have solved 12 4WD robbery cases in the state,” he said, adding, the bodies were sent to Machang Hospital for post-mortem.
