KUALA LUMPUR – The newly formed Pakatan Harapan (PH) government is urged to stop politicising the investigation of 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB) if they are sincere in resolving the case.

The veteran of DAP, Dr. Tan Seng Giaw said the criminal could only be determined through thorough investigation, in accordance with the provision of the law.

“If you want to investigate, focus on it and do it silently. One cannot make public statement, call for media conference and put the blame on certain quarters during an investigation.

“There are procedures to follow in an investigation. If there are people who are found to be wrong from the results of the investigation, charge them so that the accused can be judged in court.

“We should not call for media conference and disclose on the assumed result of investigation. That is not an investigation but politicking with certain agenda. An investigation and media conference is different,” he told MalaysiaGazette.

Seng Giaw also stressed that the election campaign is over and the election has ended for over two weeks.

Therefore, the elected leaders do not need to be carried away by the culture of politicising things as they are now the rulers.

“The election is over. They have been chosen to rule the country effectively based on the sovereignty of the law,” he added.

According to Seng Giaw, politicising all issues would not make Malaysia a supreme country as they promoted.

This has been proven by the drop of share market these few days following the concerns created by the political situation of the country.

“If you talk too much, make too many media statements like now, it would tarnish the reputation of the country. It means that you do not love Malaysia. You only love yourself,” he said. – MalaysiaGazette
