KUALA LUMPUR – A special payment of RM500 would be given to all Grade 54 and below civil servants as an appreciation from the government on their efforts and dedications in performing their duties.

Government retirees would also enjoy a special payment of RM250, said Finance Minister Lim Guan Eng during the 2019 Budget presentation at the Dewan Rakyat today.

The total payment to an estimation of 1.62 million of civil servants amounting to RM1 billion will be paid by the end of the year.

During the presentation, Guan Eng also expressed the government’s appreciation to the contributors of the Tabung Harapan Malaysia fund which had raked RM196.5 million as of this week.

“Tabung Harapan Malaysia is the symbol of loyalty and patriotism of Malaysians in helping the federal government to pay the national debts inherited from the previous administration.

“The Tabung Harapan Malaysia Trust Fund will be ceased on 31 December 2018,” he said. -MalaysiaGazette
