KUALA LUMPUR – Minister of Youth and Sports Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman hoped that the government could review the latest mechanism on the repayment of the National Higher Education Fund Corporation (PTPTN) loan.
He said, he will bring the matter to the cabinet meeting tomorrow.
According to Syed Saddiq, he will voice the concerns, especially from the youth on the announcement made by the new PTPTN Chairman, Wan Saiful Wan Jan yesterday.
He said, the borrowers need to be treated fairly, especially those who had consistently served their loans based on the agreement with PTPTN.
“Although we know that we need to pay our debts, we also want a fairer repayment deal, especially for the youths who have been serving their loans all these while, observed all the rules and made their payments on time based on their negotiations with PTPTN,” he said in a video uploaded on his Instagram account today.
Before this, PTPTN has been providing consultation services to its borrowers by negotiating the amount and duration of payments based on mutual agreements. -MalaysiaGazette
