IPOH – The final post-mortem report into the cause of fireman, Muhammad Adib Mohd Kassim’s death may take up to a month.

Deputy Minister of Health Dr Lee Boon Chye said the pathologist report would usually list the cause of death.

Nevertheless, further investigations needed to be carried out and it would normally take about a month to obtain the results.

“Usually if there is a need to do a blood test, it could take about a month to get the information on the type of injury,” he told the journalists today.

However, according to Dr Lee, if the injury report was sufficient to know the actual cause of death, the blood test would not be necessary.

The 24-year-old fireman succumbed to his injuries on 17 December after fighting for his life for three weeks. He suffered critical injuries after being assaulted while attending to a call for duty during the Sri Maha Mariamman temple riot in Seafields, Selangor.. -MalaysiaGazette
