PUTRAJAYA – Prime Minister Tun Dr. Mahathir Mohamad confirmed that there would be no cabinet reshuffle despite he only gave them the score of 50 percent for their performance.
“I give 5 over 10 or 50 percent only.
“I am a conservative person because I have been in the government for very long and I know how they work.
“But they (the Cabinet) are still new and they do not know how the government operates. In addition, they are afraid of being accused for wrongdoings.
“Thus, the decision-making process of the government becomes tougher,” he said in a special interview in conjunction with the first anniversary of the Pakatan Harapan government today.
Emphasizing that the Cabinet consists of fast-learning individuals, Dr Mahathir said that as the Prime Minister, he is responsible to teach and guide them.
“Sometimes, they need to come to me and I will try to teach them and guide them so that they can improve their performances.
“Thus, I don’t see why I should restructure the Cabinet as they can perform better,” he added.
Rumours on the Cabinet reshuffle started to spread after certain ministers were said to be inefficient in their duties and often issue controversial statements. -MalaysiaGazette
