KUALA LUMPUR – The long-awaited justice for the family of the policemen who was ‘mysteriously’ shot and wounded to death at the Pinggiran USJ Police Station, Subang Jaya in August 2017 will be brought to the next Parliamentary sitting.
The Member of Parliament (MP) of Julau (P209), Larry Sng Wei Shien told MalaysiaGazette that he was moved after listening to the woes of the family of the late Valentino especially his father, Mesa Ugom who frequently visit the MP.
According to Larry, he has tried getting feedback on the case, which to him, is long due. However, the incident remains a mystery as there is no development to the case.
“The father of the late 29-year-old Lance Corporal Valentino has been visiting me since I was elected as the Member of Parliament of Julau. Mesa requested for my assistance to contact the authorities so that those responsible for the death of his son could be brought to justice.
”I have tried to contact the authorities. However, based on the information I got as of now, the police has yet to capture the suspect of Valentino’s brutal murder. Furthermore, we are also dumbfounded by the motive of the incident.
“The suspect could be an individual or even a group. Certainly, they are very brave as they dared to commit the murder in a police station and managed to escape and remain untraceable. We are talking about a policeman and a police station.
“Valentino is not a criminal. He was murdered while he was on duty as a policeman at a police station. Is this not something serious that it should be given due attention?
“I am very disappointed, strange and astonished. We wish to know what is happening. I appeal to the newly-appointed Inspector-General of Police to provide us some clarity on the matter. We hope that the late Valentino can rest in peace, and the family can also ‘let go’ of the traffic incident. My heart goes out to them.
“Two years is not a short wait. Imagine their pain. Their life is like hell. His father travelled everywhere to fight for justice. They do not have peace and we should not keep quiet on the matter.
“I will bring this issue to the Parliament, to gain the attention of the government, to seek due justice for the family as soon as possible,” he said.
MalaysiaGazette had the opportunity to interview Mesa in his longhouse in Pakan, Sarawak.
During the interview, Mesa revealed a number of queries about his son’s murder which seemed to have met a stub, despite the incident took place in the police station where he worked.
“I have contacted the authorities numerous times but they did not provide me with any answer. Their investigations failed to uncover the culprits and why they did so.
“I am lost and sad. The merciless murderer need to be brought to justice but it is being done. Why? Why? Who killed my son?
“Please. I beg the government to seek who did that. I have not been given an explanation as of now. I appeal to the government. We have a new government now. Please help me and my family. We want peace,” he said in his tears.
Meanwhile, the Selangor Criminal Investigation Department Chief, Senior Assistant Commissioner Fadzil Ahmat said the case is still under investigation and is being classified as murder under Section 302 of the Penal Code. –MalaysiaGazette
