KUALA LUMPUR – The Director-General of the Malaysian Islamic Economic Development Foundation (YaPEIM), Datuk Abibullah Samsuddin has been temporary suspended from his post with effect from today.

The Chairman of YaPEIM, Datuk Dr Mohd Daud Bakar said, the suspension will enable a full investigation on misconduct to be carried out on Abibullah.

The investigation committee will request Abibullah to give his statements on the allegations throughout the suspension.

For the meantime, Parihah Hassan, the Senior Director of YaPEIM will be the acting as the Director-General.

Earlier, the Communications Director of PKR Fahmi Fadzil lodged a police report on the viral video of a YaPEIM officer alleged to be Abibullah for influencing his employees to vote for a party during the previous general election.

The officer had allegedly threatened his staff to not vote for Pakatan Harapan (PH).

The close to two minute video was believed to have been recorded prior to the 14th General Election (GE14). -MalaysiaGazette
