KUALA LUMPUR – All 30 stalls selling Aidilfitri festive items in front of Wisma Yakin at Jalan Masjid India were destroyed in a fire early today.

The Fire and Rescue Operation Centre arrived at the fire scene at 1.44 am after receiving a distress call at 1.35 am.

A total of 48 firemen from Titiwangsa, Pudu, Sentul and Hang Tuah Fire and Rescue Brigade were also rushed to the scene.

“When we arrived at the location at 1.44 am. The fire had razed 30 units of stalls.

“The fire gutted an area of 2,000 square feet with 100 percent of the stalls were destroyed,” said the spokesman from the Fire Brigade, L. Logeswaran.

According to him, the firemen took 20 minutes to bring the fire under control.

The fire putting overhaul is ongoing. The fire investigation unit is also at the location. -MalaysiaGazette
