PUTRAJAYA – The hopes of journalists to get statements from the Minister of Education Dr Maszlee Malik on education issues surrounding the Batek tribe orang asli in Gua Musang, Kelantan were dashed when he suddenly disappeared.

His gesture of ‘running away’ was seen as not professional as the media had various questions to ask the minister, which include the termination of 45,000 cleaners and security guards in schools, which he refused to answer.

“Eat first,” he told the media after launching the elite industrial training between the ministry and Intel.

The media followed his order, returned to their seats while waiting for Maszlee.

However, in less than five minutes, the media were informed that he has left the event.

This is not the first time of such incidence where he avoided answering hot issues. The similar incidence happened in another function when the journalists wanted to get his feedback on the fees increment of the University of Malaya. -MalaysiaGazette
