KUALA LUMPUR – Tun Dr. Mahathir Mohamad said, it will be up to the Minister of Economic Affairs Datuk Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali if he wants to take temporary leave or to continue carrying out his duties.
The Prime Minister emphasized that the Deputy President of PKR has yet to be found guilty on the recent gay sex video scandal.
“It is up to him if he wants to take leave or to continue doing his work as he is innocent until proven guilty.
“As a whole, it is a political movement and not about disclosing wrongdoings. More of stopping someone from becoming successful in their political career,” he told the media after launching the Beyond Paradigm Summit 2019 at the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre today.
In a statement yesterday, the PKR Communications Chief Datuk Seri Shamsul Iskandar Mohd. Akin urged the leaders and civil servants who are implicated with the lewd to go on leave until the investigation is over.
According to him, it is important for the individuals involved to provide space for the authorities to carry out their investigation independently and fairly.
The Deputy Minister of Primary Industries however did not name the leaders he meant.
Meanwhile, Mohamed Azmin responded and teased Shamsul Iskandar and advised him not to be a hypocrite. -MalaysiaGazette
