KUALA LUMPUR – 22 Central Committee Members and four Members of Parliament from PKR reproved their President, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim over his comment on the gay sex video.
They did not agree with Anwar who wanted his deputy, Datuk Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali to take leave if the viral sex video which implicated him is authentic.
“We strongly stand that the statement is baseless as it is purely based on speculations. The President should provide clear leadership on the main issue, to curb evil political complot to topple Azmin.
“He should also focus on the conspirator who had clearly planned to make the lewd sex video viral with bad intentions.
“We are puzzled as he issued a different opinion at the early stage of the slanderous video circulation. He said that Azmin need not let go his position,” they said in a joint-statement.
Therefore, based on the strong denial from Azmin, the President of PKR should have defended his deputy to protect the party’s unity.
According to them, the President of PKR should relook into the plight of reformation, where each and every member and leaders of PKR stood strongly in defending him from the slanders which used sex videos as a political tool despite the then Inspector-General of Police verified that the video was authentic in 2011.
“Azmin had consistently defended him and his family for over 20 years from all accusations and political gutters,” they said.
The also emphasized that PKR need to stand strong and consistent in opposing dirty politics used in the complot to topple the Deputy President of PKR.
“We will stand with Azmin and any other leaders if they are being attacked immorally like this,” they added.
Thus, they urged Anwar to stop issuing statements which can break the unity of the party.
