PUTRAJAYA – Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad confirmed the rumours that he has met the leaders from various opposition parties at his office last Tuesday.
The Prime Minister said, the opposition parties from UMNO, PAS and Sarawak requested to have an audience with him.
According to Mahathir, he did not only meet the opposition parties, he also met many people, including from the Non-Government Organisations (NGO).
“Are you spying on me (smiling)? Yes, the meeting took place but I met everyone, not just the opposition parties. I met the NGOs too.
“As we already know, the President of PAS supports me all these time. This is nothing new.
“They wished to come and meet me. I met them and listened to what they had to say.
“Many of them stated their support for me. Thank you very much.
“They came from various parties. PAS, UMNO and Sarawak. They wanted to meet me, so, I met them,” he said after chairing a Roundtable Discussion: The Prime Minister of Malaysia with the International Chambers of Commerce, organised by Talent Corp at the Putrajaya International Convention Centre (PICC).
He was asked to verify a report that a meeting was held between him and several opposition leaders at his office recently. -MalaysiaGazette
