SUBANG JAYA – DAP will surrender the controversial decision on the introduction of Jawi khat in Bahasa Melayu to the cabinet.
The National Organising Secretary of DAP, Anthony Loke Siew Fook said, the party has its position on the issue, however, they are waiting to bring it to the cabinet for discussion.
“We had a meeting yesterday to get the feedback and opinion from everyone present nationwide (DAP and community leaders).
“They shared their worries on the matter, which has became an issue and we will discuss about it and seek common solution in accordance to the position of the people.
“We will get the feedback from the Cabinet. DAP has its own position on the matter and we will bring it for Cabinet discussion,” he said.
When asked about the suggestion from the Deputy President of MCA, Dr Mah Hang Soon who said that DAP should pressure Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad to withdraw the proposal, Anthony said that the party will not listen to any suggestion thrown by MCA.
According to the Minister of Transport, DAP will only listen to the people, without involving other political parties such as MCA.
“We listen to what the people has to say. We give our service to them and not MCA,” he said. -MalaysiaGazette
