KUALA LUMPUR – Datuk Seri Najib Razak rebutted the Pakatan Harapan (PH) government and DAP for blaming UMNO, PAS, MCA and MIC in the Buy Muslim First (BMF) campaign.

According to the former Prime Minister, PH and DAP have played vital role in promoting BMF.

Najib highlighted that based on a research by Malaysiakini on the BMF campaign, the number of followers in the BMF Facebook group which was set-up in December last year was only 10,000 people initially.

However, when Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad raised the issue on BMF on 30 August 2019 and the number of participants in that group increased to 100,000 people that very same night.

The number escalated again to 500,000 people when Lim Kit Siang, the advisor of DAP mentioned the issue, followed by Lim Guan Eng who condemned PAS and UMNO without any reason, other than challenging the consumers not to buy mobile phones.

“As a result, the number of participants in that group increases again to one million on 3 September. I was told that the number of members in that group has reached 1.6 million today,” said Najib.

He also said that the scenario has proven that PH and DAP played vital role in promoting the BMF campaign.

“However, PH has the cheek in putting the blame on UMNO, PAS, MCA and MIC,” he said. -MalaysiaGazette
