KUALA LUMPUR – Datuk Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali emphasized that there is no reason for him to leave Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) unless there are envious people who want to kick him out.
Furthermore, the Deputy President of PKR said that his position in PKR was determined by party members.
“I was chosen by the huge mandate in PKR. It was not only me but the whole team in PKR, we obtained two thirds of the votes during the party election.
“So, there is no reason for me to leave the party, unless there are envious people who want to kick me out of the party. That is up to them,” he said when met at the lobby of the Parliament, answering the allegations of Syed Husin Ali on Azmin forming a new party after his rift with Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.
Azmin, who is also the Minister of Economic Affairs said that he is committed to PKR and will remain with the party, to build and support the leadership and its members.
Last week, Syed Husin, the co-founder of PKR alleged that Azmin is planning to set-up a new party following his disagreements with the Party President.
He said, the movement is one of the three planning Azmin is working on recently.
Meanwhile, Azmin also revealed that Syed Husin is envious with the success of Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad in raking public support while Syed Husin’s political existence does not impact the country at all.
“That is the opinion of Syed Husin. He has been in politics for decades, there is no impact at all. Perhaps he is jealous with the success of Tun Dr Mahathir who is strongly celebrated by Malaysians.
“That is his common opinion,” he said. -MalaysiaGazette
