KUALA LUMPUR – A total of 190 police officers have been tested positive of drug in a screening and six of them were high ranking officers.

The Bukit Aman Narcotic Crime Investigation Department Director Datuk Mohd Khalil Kader Mohd said, the screening was part of the Blue Devil Ops which has entered its 80th day.

“Although we are forced to arrest our own people, it is part of the duty of the police to ensure integrity of the police,” he said.

According to him, the force cannot allow its own members to be involved in drug abuse.

He further said that the operation will continue until the drug abuse amongst the police is eliminated.

Those who are found guilty will be terminated and further actions will be taken against them, including to charge them at the court.

Mohd Khalil also said that the police officers were tested positive of methamphetamine, amphetamine, morphine or opium, tetrahydrocannibinol (THC) and ketamine. The are currently being investigated and suspended from their duties. -MalaysiaGazette
