PUTRAJAYA – The Members of Parliament (MP) of Barisan Nasional (BN) from Maran and Cameron Highlands were among those seen at the official residence of the Minister of Economic Affairs, Datuk Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali last night.
Datuk Seri Ismail Abdul Mutalib (Maran) and Ramli Mohd Noor (Cameron Highlands) were believed to be among the 22 MPs who had a meeting with Azmin at 9.00 pm last night.
When met, Ramli who was leaving Azmin’s residence at about 11.00 pm said, “There was no meeting. I came because my house is nearby.”
Meanwhile, Ismail also refused to elaborate further on the meet-up and said, “That was between the Members of Parliament and the Minister.”
The meeting was believed to be led by the former Vice-President of UMNO, Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Tun Hussein.
Also seen at Azmin’s residence were the former UMNO Deputy Women’s Chief, Datuk Azizah Md Dun who has now joined Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu).
Besides the MPs from BN, the Deputy Minister of Transport Datuk Kamaruddin Jaafar and the Minister of Housing and Local Government Zuraida Kamaruddin were also seen leaving Azmin’s official residence.
Among the list of the 22 MPs from BN involved in the meeting last night were Datuk Seri Ahmad Hamzah (Jasin); Datuk Seri Shahidan Kassim (Arau); Datuk Seri Dr. Ismail Mohamed Said (Kuala Kurau), Datuk Hasbullah Osman (Gerik), Mohd Shahar Abdullah (Paya Besar), Datuk Jamaluddin Alias (Jelebu); Datuk Seri Azalina Othman Said (Pengerang); and Datuk Noraini Ahmad (Parit Sulong). -MalaysiaGazette
