KUALA LUMPUR – Yayasan Wilayah Persekutuan (YWP) has been instructed by the Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) to remove a sugar daddy dating advertisement by Sugarbook in Bangsar and Bukit Kiara over its sensitive and obscene content.
According to the enforcement agency, it did not give any permit for the advertisement. The structure of the electronic billboard was owned by the YWP which had appointed the outdoor media company, Out of Home as its operator.
Sugarbook is an online dating mobile application which is against the norm of the society in Malaysia.
“The content of the Sugarbook advertisement displayed on the LED advert structure did not obtain City Hall and YWP approval. The LED operator has been informed of the content of the advert which is sensitive against the norms of Malaysian society, and that it must immediately remove the advert,” DBKL said in a statement.
