KUALA LUMPUR – Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad has been briefed on the audio recordings disclosed by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC).
The 30-minute briefing was held at the Albukhary Foundation this morning, according to a report by FMT.
Yesterday, the MACC revealed 9 audio clips which implicated Datuk Seri Najib Razak and several other individuals.
Among the clips included his conversation with the former Chief Commissioner of MACC Tan Sri Dzulkifli Ahmad on the 1Malaysia Development Berhad and SRC International.
Conversation between Najib and another individual from overseas on the former Prime Minister’s appointment request for his stepson, Riza Aziz to cover the trace of funds Riza obtained for the film production implicating 1MDB.
Besides that, the audio clips also revealed Najib’s request for an appointment with the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi.
According to Latheefa, the recordings will be surrendered to the authorities for further investigation.
During the news conference yesterday, Latheefa said that the Prime Minister had yet been briefed on recordings. -MalaysiaGazette
