KUALA LUMPUR – The PAS headquarters denied that they have granted the greenlight for Sarawak PAS to use Barisan Nasional (BN)’s logo.

Its Secretary-General, Datuk Takiyuddin Hassan said, there is no decision from the party leadership on the issue and the party has yet to decide if they want to contest in the Sarawak State Election.

“Pas Headquarters would like to confirm that we have never made such decision. We also have not decided if we would be contesting in the coming Sarawak State Election.

“Therefore, that statement was not from PAS central, nor a verified Sarawak PAS statement,” he said in a statement today.

Yesterday, the Sarawak PAS Communications Chief, Zharudin Narudin said, Sarawak PAS did not see a problem in using the BN logo if they need to win their maiden seat in the state.

Zharudin also said that it would be an advantage to return Sarawak which was previously strong with BN sentiments to vote for BN.

He also thought that BN’s victory in Kimanis Parliamentary seat last Saturday was due to the acceptance of the voters in Borneo towards Muafakat Nasional (National Cooperation).

The Sarawak State Election is projected to take place next year. -MalaysiaGazette
