KUALA LUMPUR – The Home Ministry shares the view of Sabah state government which struck off the implementation Sabah Temporary Pass (PSS) yesterday.

In a statement today, the Home Ministry said that it is aware of the decision made by the state government on the PSS issue in the Sabah State Cabinet meeting on 22 January.

“The matter has been decided by the State Government of Sabah after taking into consideration the opinion from various quarters,” the statement said.

According to the statement, the PSS implementation was a joint-agreement between Sabah and the federal government, thus, the ministry, as the joint-coordinator shares the opinion of the Sabah state government on the PSS issue.

It said, the ministry is committed in overcoming the refugees problem in Sabah with the state government.

“The ministry would like to emphasize that overcoming the refugees issue in Sabah is a joint-commitment between the state government of Sabah and the Federal Government. It will be carried out continuously and carefully without affecting the rights of the citizens, and the interests and safety of the people in Sabah,” said the Home Ministry. -MalaysiaGazette
